2015 Annual Meeting

The 2015 Meeting will take place May 21-22, 2015 in Washington, DC.
Meeting Place:  Radio Free Asia headquarters, 2025 M Street NW, Washington, DC 20036

Meeting Schedule:  The meeting will begin at 12 noon on Thursday, May 21, and there will be a group dinner on Thursday night.  The meeting will continue from approximately 9 am to 5 pm on Friday, May 22.  Dinner will be provided for meeting attendees on Thursday, and lunch on Friday.Draft Agenda:

2:00 pm - NASB Business Meeting - topics to be discussed include plans for the 2016 annual meeting, updating the NASB website, a 25th anniversary NASB QSL/contest for shortwave listeners, a possible NASB shortwave listeners meeting in Brisbane, Australia in conjunction with the HFCC Conference in August, financial reports, election of officers

4:00 pm - Brief board meeting for NASB Board members

4:30 pm - Adjournment.  Dinner on your own.
Meeting Costs:  There is no charge for attending the NASB 2015 Annual Meeting; you only need to register online or by sending an e-mail to nasbshortwave@gmail.com with your name and e-mail address.  Coffee breaks will be provided in the meeting room at Radio Free Asia on Thursday and Friday at no charge to attendees, as well as dinner on Thursday and lunch on Friday.  Attendees are responsible for their own travel and accommodation expenses.

Conference Hotel:  St. Gregory Hotel, 2033 M Street NW, Washington, DC 20036 (located right next to Radio Free Asia).  This is a five-star luxury hotel, available to us at a very inexpensive rate (as downtown Washington hotel rates go).

Special Conference Hotel Rate:  $169.00 per night (plus 14.5% DC tax).  This is a substantial savings off the standard hotel rate of $425.00-$595.00 per night.  This rate is for a single or double room.  There is an extra charge of $30.00 for each additional adult (over two) staying in the same room.  The conference rate is available only for the nights of Thursday and Friday, May 21 and 22, checking out on Saturday, May 23.  Additional nights are available at the prevailing public rate.

Hotel Amenities:  Refrigerator, coffee maker, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, CD player, high speed Internet, two telephone lines with voice mail, in-room safe.  The St. Gregory Hotel has a 24-hour accessible state-of-the-art fitness center for hotel guests and a 24-hour self-serve business center.

Hotel Restaurants:  M Street Bar & Grill is the St. Gregory Hotel in-house restaurant, open seven days per week for breakfast, lunch and dinner.  The 21M Lounge is open seven days a week for lunch, drinks and Sunday jazz brunch.  

Hotel Reservations:  You should make your own hotel reservation by calling the St. Gregory Hotel at +1-202-530-3600 or +1-800-829-5034 no later than April 22, 2015.  You can also contact the hotel via fax at +1-202-466-6770 or you may contact Kaye Thomspn, Reservations Manager, at: k.thompson@capitalhotelswdc.com. Our NASB block of rooms will be held until April 22.  After that date, reservations will be accepted on a space-available basis and subject to current rate availability.  All reservations must be guaranteed by a credit card.

Hotel Cancellation Policy:  Reservations may be cancelled without penalty up to 72 hours prior to arrival or changed up to 4:00 pm Eastern Time on the day of arrival.  Otherwise, the hotel will charge your credit card for the first night’s room rate and tax.  If you cancel your reservation, you will be given a cancellation number which will be different from your reservation number.

Hotel Parking:  Valet parking is available at the hotel for $37 per night.
